  1. I like the upgraded Dragon 2 Pad Abort 1:48 scale . It appears to have addressed some of the issues I had when =building it. I used your models last Saturday a talk I gave to the Cambridge Society of Essex about Elon Musk and the road to Mars.

    Thanks again.

    • Hi, I’m very passionate about nasa and everything that has already been built about space. I’ve been looking for models in several miniature models to buy, but I can not find them. I’m in love with the site, so much incredible thing that you do. Anyway, I would like to know if it would be possible for you to sell the products already assembled or sending the assembly videos of each one. because I have a hard time learning and doing. If you could do that for me, I really thank you. I will certainly point out and help you continue to do what I do, you and many people love. Thank you very much, I await your response

  3. I cannot find a description of how this works. Do I purchase the downloads then I need to print out on my printer and paper?

  4. Greetings,

I cannot access the “EARLY US PROGRAMS”. I have tried several times on different days, is it temporarilly down or permanantly down ?

    Thanking you in advance.

    Regards,
    Luc

  5. Hi,
This is the first time I am doing any paper model. My kids are really excited after seeing these models. They are big fans of Spacex. Do you have any tutorial which I can go through first?
Do I need to purchase something here or everything is free to download?
Models look really wonderful. Keep up the good work.
    Thanks,
    Shreeram

  6. Hello,
I like all of your creation but it is possible to make the new NASA space ship Orion and the DREAM-LINER ? I search this model but i haven’t found this and I think that it is a very beautiful shuttle. I will very happy if you make this shuttle…
Can you make the CTS 100 of Boeing?
    Thanks for your work!
    Thomas

  7. Thank you for the amazing models. I’m having trouble finding instructions on how to set up the type of grid fins that are on the Iridium Next model (not the landing configuration). It has four sets of three fins printed together, the two outer have graphics printed and the middle one is blank. I’m hoping you can help me out.

    • I’d like to send you a picture so you can see how it’s done. The three parts are glued together like a sandwich. Look at photos of my models.

    • Ok so just sandwich then together and glue them directly on? Some of the other models have a small ring to offset them a little bit so I just wasn’t sure if I was missing something. Thank you.

  8. Hello,
I am working on the falcon heavy roadster payload. The pdf looks great, but when I print it out, the car has a brownish orange tint to it. I have tried it on two different computers with two different printers and I get the same results. Do you have any tips to get the colors to print properly? Thanks.
    Matt

    • That could happen if the ink is running out. The color should not change if printing from the pdf. But if you print from a vector program when you’re trying to edit the file, then the color might print differently.

  9. Dear Alfonso, your work is really nice, thank you for sharing!

And yes, I will donate, sure! than you so much

    Daniel

  10. Has anyone considered making a paper model of the SpaceX BFR yet? At 1:100 scale, of course.

  11. Are there any stands that I can use to display my falcon 9 models vertically? if so can you tell me where?

  12. Please make a 1:100 model of the ASDS Of Course I Still Love You. If you already have, could you direct me to it? Thanks,
    Anonymous.

  13. Hello.I am from Russia and I very like this blog and your model of ISS. This is GREAT! But i found, that there is not the page of “Rassvet”,at the same time “Rassvet” is in Kit #3 of ISS. And I found, that link of PDF on page of “Poisk” are invalid. I’ll be happy if you will fix it.

  14. I remember there were other soviet space station to download like salyut in the old version, how can I find it it now?

  15. Hey! Just wanted to say I LOVE your work and have made countless models already, wanted to know will you design a TEL and OCISLY for the F9 models? If so, woohoo!!

    Keep up the amazing work!

  16. Love the work. Will you be making a separate Dual Engine Centaur for the Atlas V N22 Starliner configuration? It’ll be cool to have the second stage separate from the booster like the Parker Solar Probe DCSS.

  17. When will you release the manual on how to make the Parker solar probe satellite itself? Working on it and can’t figure it out.

  18. Is it possible to make these models out of regular 80g/m^2 a4 paper because I really love these models and want to make some of them myself.
    Keep up the great work.
    Thank you.

  19. Hi, thanks for your work.

I never did a paper model and I have some doubts.
In Europe we use g/m2 for paper, I don’t know which measure correspond to 110 lbs (I suppose 200 g/m2 but I am not sure), maybe it’s a good idea to add this info to your pdfs.
Which kind of glue is recommended? Something like uhu stick or something else?

    thanks

  20. Can you send me a link to the block 5 instructions. I can’t seem to find them.

  21. Hi! About Dragon2. Will it dock to the model of ISS? And how can I make this model in different scale, like 1:100 not 1:48? Can I just increase in program when I print it ?

    • printing the templates at 48% scale should put the model into 1:100. On chrome, after clicking print, click more options, then change the scale to 48. Also make sure fit to page is not selected

  22. Hi, I don’t have much card stock, but I would love to make your models. Can you make an interchangeable Falcon 9 (Block V) that can hold a fairing, the Crew Dragon, and the payload adapter (if F9 uses the payload fairing adapter)? Thanks!

  23. Hey Alfonso, I am currently building your Falcon Heavy model (in test launch configuration) and loving it. It’s going well considering that it is my first card model. It got me to thinking that I should be building a Saturn V because this summer is the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. I don’t see a Saturn V pattern on your site, but wondered if you could make one or suggest a good one that someone else has made. Thanks!

  24. Have you made the starship and starhopper model? Also have you made the blue origins lunar lander? ISRO’s Chandrayaan 2 mission would be great to build.
    Love your works!

  28. Hey Admin, when will you upload Manned Starship, SpaceX Droneships,Visible Second Stage Engine of Falcon 9 or maybe the Gateway Space Station?
The second question: Did you redo the Falcon 9 everytime you start to make it and upload?
    (Sorry for my bad English)

  29. Can you make a seperate F9 Second stage and its engine?
(I will be happy if you say :”Yes, I can!”)

  30. Hi

Is it possible to scale ISS down tp 1:400 form the original paper prints? Meaning, assume pay and download the ISS bundle can i just scale down the prints or that wont do?

    Thanks

    • Unfortunately, you cannot alter the files, but you can print at different percentage, meaning that you can downscale through your printer settings only.

  31. Great models and great initiative making them freely available for download, I must admit though to being completely overwhelmed by your site and the thousands of options and sub-options and downloads and sub-downloads and secondary, primary, tertiary files…its all incredibly confusing and laborious – I’m no idiot I fly turboprops but navigating your site is confounding me, I was pointed here to get the most accurate and detailed Shuttle model but I’m offered millions of sub files and parent files and all I want is a detailed Shuttle model in full, and then logically add on accessories as and when I want if I want. Can you just simplify this please – alternatively is there a link that allows me to download everything in one zip or rar that I can sort out later?

    • I know your frustration. My Shuttle files will be updated hopefully soon. These files were part of my old HTML site and the way I grouped them is totally obsolete. I will consolidate them in a better way. Thanks for your concern and comment.

  32. a while back I purchased the 1:100 ISS combo kit, and have since lost the file. is there any way for me to get this or will i have to pay again? if you want proof of purchase i can give you the email i used for it.

  33. Do you have any advice for up scaling your space shuttle models to 1:100 in order to fit in with the ISS? Before you warn me, i’m aware of how big that will end up being. Sorry if this has been asked already, and thanks for making such fantastic models for us space nerds.

    • In order for a 1:144 Shuttle model be at the same scale with the ISS 1:100, you’d need to print the Shuttle file at 144% in your printer settings. So, print each Shuttle page at 144%.

  34. I want to build the 1:100 Starhopper but the printer doesn’t print the grey and metallic parts. The printer cartridges are new. I hope you can help me!

    • You need to use metallic cardstock in order to print the metallic version of the model. The instructions are clear. Because it’s metallic paper, you’d need to print on the backside or white side of the paper. The ink will not stick to the metallic side.

    • I build the non-metallic version. The printer doesn’t print the grey parts of
      the templates.

  35. I absolutely love your models! I do have a question about the docking ports:
Are the docking ports functional? Is there a way to put them together so that the craft actually “dock” and “undock” without damaging any parts (i.e. petals) and can stick together without gluing them?

    Thanks!

    • Hi, every docking port has an opening to insert a small connecting cylinder for either a Soyuz or Progress in the Russian segment. On the berthing ports, the actual docking rings of the HTV, Cygnus and Dragon cargo 1 can easily snap in place. For the IDAs, there’s also a way to remove the petal section and replace it with a connecting cylinder for CrewDragon or Starliner.
      There no need for glue.

  36. Hello there.
Are you going to make The Soyuz Rocket in future update ? It’s kinda difficult to find a Soyuz Launch Vehicle paper scale model in internet.

  37. I cannot find guide how to build the Startships. Doing the SN8 and struggling with the flaps, is there a instruction guide

    Great models

  38. I just finished the normal paper SN9, would you like me to send some pictures so you can put them on the info page?

  39. ¡Hola!

  41. Can you please add a superheavy? Or will that come when SN 20 and BN3 are launched?

  42. Hi Alfonso,

Thank you very much for your effort in designing and providing your great models. I have designed a few airplane kits myself and can very well appreciate the work that goes into that.

I am currently working on a rocket garden around manned spaceflight. The piece de resistance is a Saturn V in 1:96 and I want the rest of the models to be in the same scale to correctly represent what a leap that was.

Have you gotten around to rescaling your shuttle orbiters (or any single one of them, I only need one :-)) to 1:100 yet? If so can you point me to where to find them?

My current alternative is to use Fortezzas Columbia, just because it is already close in scale. I would then mate that to an external tank and SRBs from your collection. I am more confident in rescaling those myself than the full orbiter as they are much simpler and by now I have built a lot of tubes already :-).

If and when I do so would you mind if I offer the rescaled/rearranged kits as free download from my site (no commercial interest whatsoever and giving proper credit of course)? Or would you maybe like to include them in yours?

    • Hi Marian,
Sorry for a late reply. At this point in time, a 1:100 Shuttle is not yet available. It is in my plans to not only rescale the original 1:144 version but it will be an improved Shuttle model with more details including the thermal tiles.
The Fortezza Shuttle is a great alternative if that is your choice. I cannot estimate when I’ll start designing my 1:100 Shuttle version, though.
I always like to announce future projects through my twitter channel, so please follow me. My twitter link is on my site’s homepage.
Regarding the rocket garden, I also see the possibility of making a Saturn V in 1:100 in the near future as well.

  43. hi AXM I was wondering is the Vacuum optimized Raptor engine on the sn20 needs to use magnets to assemble it or you can just use glue?

  44. Alfonso i love your model it has every ditail on it but please don’t take it wrong but i need the space shuttle launch pad you have made the crawler transport and mobile launch platform but the most interesting thing is launch pad i would be delightful if you made for free

  45. Dear Alfonso your models are super good it is becoming famous in my school. I made you GSLV MK III and sls and crawler transport and space shuttle discovery open payload and space shuttle Atlantis with external tank and srb.

  46. Dear Mr. Alfonso!
Your work is amazing! Could you kindly tell what software do you use for creating such beautiful models? And do you make a 3D computer model first and then the sheets for printing, or it is only a 2D vector redactor?

  47. Dear Mr. Alfonso,
What size magnets do you use for the Crew Dragon 2 to connect it with the trunk?

    • I did not use magnets on the smaller 1:100 version of Crew Dragon 2, but on the larger 1:48 scale, I did use a big magnet, one inside the reentry shield and another inside the trunk on the base of the trunk.

  48. Hello Mr. Afonso, I love your models, they are simple to make and great in appearance, your site is the best Papercraft site on the internet. I would like to know if you will design Nauka and Prichal?
Oh and did you ever come across some papercraft model of the MAKS or Klipper? I’m looking for one.

  49. Dear Alfonso,

I am planning to make our own rocket(Amatuar Rocket)’s paper model.
Could you recommend any software tool that I can use for paper model?

    Thanks in advance!
