Kounotori HTV-8
Kounotori HTV-8 was launched on Sep 24, 2019 carrying 6 new lithium-ion batteries to the ISS. These batteries will upgrade the P6 truss power channels from their original nickel hydrogen batteries.
Launch Site: Tanegashima, Japan
Launch Vehicle: HII-B rocket
The Exposed pallet from HTV-8 was extracted by Canadarm 2 and attached to the MBS/POA.
Departure: The Exposed pallet 7 with old batteries that has been held by the Japanese Remote Arm was handed over to the Canadarm 2 in order to be placed in the Unpressurized Logistics carrier of HTV-8 to be discarded during re-entry.
