Fifth "Cygnus" - ISS Commercial Resupply Services Mission

"S.S. Rick Husband"

This was the Fifth of eight commercial cargo resupply missions to the ISS under the NASA Commercial Resupply Services (CRS) contract. For this mission, Orbital ATK had named the Cygnus spacecraft SS Rick Husband as a tribute to the fallen astronaut from Space Shuttle Columbia STS-107.

This was the second mission of a Cygnus spacecraft aboard an Atlas V 401 rocket (AV-061) from ULA. The Atlas V OA-6 was successfully launched on March 22, 2016 from Cape Canaveral launch pad 41.

As its predecesor, the OA-6 is also an enhanced Cygnus spacecraft that features an extended cargo carrier with"Ultraflex" solar arrays. For this mission it carries a NanoRacks Deployer system located on the exterior of the Service Module.

The Atlas V papermodel is available in 1:96 scale and the Cygnus OA-6 comes in 1:100 scale.
