STS-131 Payload / 19A

Space Shuttle Discovery STS-131 was successfully launched on April 5th, 2010 on its penultimate voyage to the International Space Station carrying for the seventh time the Multi-Purpose Logistic Module "Leonardo" and a spare hardware for the station, an ATA (Ammonia Tank Assembly). Discovery is flying with the same configuration from STS-128 mission.

During STS-131 mission the crew will replace an empty Ammonia Tank on the S1 truss and return the empty LWAPA plate from outside of Columbus module. Also, a Japanese experiment will be removed from one of the external payloads from the JEM Exposed Facility. The old empty ATA will be placed back on the LMC for return to Earth.

The micrometeoroid shield panels that were stowed on ESP-2 during STS-129 will be removed during an EVA and will be brought back to Earth.

It is important to annotate that the External Tank intertank section for this mission was modified since the last flight, making this a new External Tank configuration. This change is reflected in the ET papermodel for this mission (Download page 5 ).

For this model, the payload detail was made possible thanks to NASA's photo Gallery. It is a FREE model because all the elements have been released separately from other missions.

Enjoy the photos and the model!
